Daylighting Results: Point Results tab

Used to view calculated illumination data for each point in the working plane.

Note: The Point Results tab is a subset of the Daylighting Results dialog.
Tip: You can open the Results Viewer utility to step through the calculations for displayed results by selecting the result value and clicking for more information (as prompted).
SettingDescription
Room [Room Name] Results Located in the left panel of the Point Results tab, the Room [Room Name] Results display point results on tables in the data display panel on the right side of the Point Results tab. A table is provided for each of the rooms listed here.
Point results for room: [Room Name] Displays point results for the selected room on a table.
  • Working plane - Displays the calculation grid working plane height defined in the Daylighting: Calculate tab.
  • Horizontal spacing - Displays the calculation grid working plane horizontal spacing defined in the Daylighting dialog Calculate tab.
  • Vertical spacing - Displays the calculation grid working plane horizontal spacing defined in the Daylighting dialog Calculate tab.
Point results Displays calculated daylighting illuminance levels (illuminance/area) for each point on the working plane. Daylight illuminance levels depend on many factors, including sky condition, sun position, building location, its size, and the glass transmittance of its windows, window shading, and reflectance of interior surfaces.
  • X axis - The number of columns displayed on the X axis is equal to the number of working plane horizontal divisions that fit into the selected room's floor plan along the X axis.
  • Y axis - The number of rows displayed on the Y axis is equal to the number of working plane vertical divisions that fit into the selected room's floor plan along the Y axis.
